Our mission is to give EVERYONE the chance to dance!

SOSA was created for anyone who loves to dance – salsa, latin, ballroom and other international dance styles – but maybe doesn’t have a dance partner or the confidence to go it alone.

SOSA represents everything you want from your favourite dance fitness class – easy-to-learn choreography, fantastic songs and soundtracks, a great welcome, friendly atmosphere and fantastic like-minded people.

SOSA is low impact and high energy, suitable for all ages and abilities. We want to empower all adults who are currently inactive, to get dancing and have FUN!

SOSA doesn’t feel like exercise, so it’s not a chore…

Our SOSA Dance Fitness programme is highly endorsed within the fitness and dance industry, with CIMSPA (The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport & Physical Activity), EMD UK (the national governing body for exercise, movement and dance), and UK Active.

We are recognised and supported by the International Dance Teachers Association and One Dance UK.

We have an official lock-up logo with ‘This Girl Can’, the nationwide Sport England funded initiative to encourage more women and girls to get active.

SOSA Dance Fitness was founded in November 2012 by Katy Barrow, and officially launched to the fitness industry as a REPS endorsed training provider, carrying the maximum 12 CPD points, in February 2015.

Our SOSA Dance Fitness programme is unique compared to other industry competitors because our classes are run in the format of a dance class rather than a fitness class.

Our participants learn to dance authentic steps, movements and styling techniques for 37 international dance styles, including Ballroom, Latin, Salsa, Rock’n’Roll, Commercial, Contemporary, Bollywood, Flamenco, Bachata, Kizomba, Brazilian Zouk and Soca… just to name a few.

Every routine is broken down for participants before dancing to music, giving them the opportunity to learn each step with different layers of movement that can be built up over time, to ensure that our classes are fully inclusive for beginners right through to experienced dance/fitness enthusiasts.

SOSA classes are one fantastic fusion of dance and fitness!

There are no barriers to stop you getting SOSA fit either. You absolutely do not need any dance experience, or even to have attended a fitness class before.

Our fabulous, fully-qualified and insured team of  SOSA instructors are there to make you – and everyone else – feel good!

SOSA is designed with beginners in mind, and our routines will get you up and dancing, having fun straight away.

There are plenty of progressions to keep experienced dancers very happy too! In fact, SOSA is at the forefront of a dance movement to bring everybody into one fully inclusive class – embracing all ages and abilities, shapes and sizes, faiths and cultures.

Our classes are high energy but low-impact, making them suitable and safe for all fitness levels – and we walk through the dance steps for each routine first, so you’re never left struggling at the back!
